CST 2015 - Week 3

Lab 7

This week was our Thanksgiving card project and our Midterm Proposal. Lab 7 was our Thanksgiving Day card, which I completed with Brad. The hardest part about the assignment was finding images that fit together. We wanted to find images without editing them ahead of time, but that added a lot of unforseen issues that could've been avoided. We eventually altered our chromaKey "green-screen" function to rezise its range based on the images it was given, and to change the color it was searching for based on a "tag" parameter. This left our code a little messy but it still ended up working the way we wanted it to, with the ability to dynamically change the size of pictures.

Midterm Proposal

I am working with Tayler on the Midterm project and we have decided to research two different options for our personal filter. One is a modification to the "artify" filter from the previous lab that segements of pieces of the images based on color ranges and replaces those pixel's colors with a color chosen from a pallette. The result of which would resemble a mosaic based around the given image. Our other choice is a Googly Eye filter that takes in a portrait-like image and finds the best possible location to place "Googly-Eyes" onto the image.
Our CSUMB-erize filter will overlay a CSUMB mascot while hopefully adding a faux-double-exposure effect onto both of the images when placed over a background.
